EXEC FILE: Katherine Sibley

First published in Business

Katherine Sibley, associate solicitor in the commercial and litigation department at Baines Wilson

I had a fantastic childhood growing up in Ulverston. After living in Leeds for the past 15 years, I have finally returned to my roots working for niche commercial law firm Baines Wilson LLP, based in their new Lancaster office.

I was a waitress and kitchen hand at Gleaston Water Mill.

I studied Law and German at the University of Sheffield then completed my legal practice course at the College of Law in York. I qualified as a solicitor with DLA Piper at their Leeds office.

I am very sociable and down to earth. I have good time management skills which help me balance my career and my three young children. From a business point of view, I have good attention to detail. I can quickly understand the issues involved in a case and am skilled at achieving a commercial settlement.

Achieving a successful result for a client.

As a lawyer, it has to be, always pay attention to detail and never mix work and pleasure.
