FILMS IN THE FOREST: The Singing Ringing Tree, an East German studio film with a style that loosely combines the Wizard of Oz and Twin Peaks.
FILM fans can take part in a three-day cinema retreat in Grizedale Forest as part of the Abandon Normal Devices Festival, an an exciting festival of digital culture, ground-breaking art, and new cinema, which takes place between Friday-Sunday, September 18-20. Losing the Plot introduces new cinema from Raya Martin, Mati Diop and Ole Giæver and classics from Harun Faroki, Margaret Tait and Chick Strand. Included is a showing of The Singing Ringing Tree (pictured).
