JOSEPH Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace is the next helping of theatre from Ulverston Outsiders.
A mix of comical chaos, confusion and ongoing attempts to conceal a corpse, the well-known black farce revolves around theatre critic Mortimer Brewster, and his two genteel, spinster aunts, who have a rather unfortunate addiction: Abbie and Martha just love poisoning lonely old men.
The play premiered on Broadway in 1941, with the film classic, directed by Frank Capra and starring Cary Grant, released the same year.
The Outsiders production is directed by Jayne Kendall, and runs from Tuesday, November 18, until Saturday, November 22, at Ulverston’s Coronation Hall.
Performances start at 7.30pm.
Box office 01229-587140.
