Grease, Low Wood Hotel, Windermere
Some 80 local and national guests were treated to an outstanding performance of songs from the musical Grease.
The singers were from the youth section of the Kinder Children's Choirs of the High Peak, a choir with a national reputation conducted by Joyce Ellis MBE.
The 20-strong choir not only sang beautifully but moved beautifully too, and the combined effect was so exuberant and emotive it brought tears to many people's eyes, including my own. Their combined male and female voices produced a wonderfully harmonious and melodic tone which much more senior choirs would have been pleased with.
Certainly the guests, who paid £25 to hear the choir, as well as enjoy a meal, were very pleased with the evening, which contributed over £1,000 towards the Air Ambulance Service, the charity chosen to benefit from the event.
