DREAMFIRED Storynights brings Belgium's most popular storyteller to Helsington and Brigsteer Village Hall tomorrow night (Friday, April 11, 7.30pm).

Where many storytellers play with traditional fairy tales, or ancient myths, Fred Versonnen creates his own tales, often with historical inspiration.

Apparently, Fred - who performs The Elephant Story tomorrow night - spent several years as a hospital clown, and the following day (Saturday, April 12, 10am-1.30pm) at Arnside Institute, features in Dreamfired Storynights’ morning workshop Clowning for storytellers and other performers, which is all about engaging with an audience and making connections - not about red noses.

Led by Fred, the workshop is for storytellers, spoken word performers, and also for singer/songwriters or folk performers who want to build audience rapport between songs.

Places are limited. Advance booking is essential via katq@swirlofstories.org.
