JAMIE Barnes’ artwork is principally concerned with houses, buildings and other manmade structures and he draws ‘house portraits’ to commission.
As part of the huge C-Art Open Studios event the popular Kendal artist has opened his house at 6 Serpentine Road, at weekend, from 10am-5pm tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, and September 28/29, during which he will be demonstrating his printmaking techniques as well as exhibiting his splendid creations. Having spent many years as a curator, Jamie started to develop my own drawing style during a tour of Italy and while working at Keswick Museum took a printmaking class at Carlisle became fascinated by aquatint etching. Since, he’s branched out into drypoint, monoprinting and carborundum.
