ROAD surfaces are among the unlikely and unusual subject matter on show in a new photographic exhibition at the Brewery.
Jeremy Braund's Road Works, Looking At The Overlooked, is gracing the walls of the Kendal arts centre's Intro Bar.
His large colourful images frame road surfaces and all that usually exists in the road: drains, manholes, painted lines, cracks, concrete and tarmacked areas. Lancaster-based Jeremy says he aims to show through these works that the strictly mundane, functional and ordinary can be made interesting and engaging.
As the exhibition title suggests, Jeremy believes that people usually overlook functional aspects of their everyday environment and yet on closure inspection they can be visually stimulating. The pictures - on show until June 5 - were taken in France, Spain and Italy with a number of images of Kendal roads especially produced for the Brewery exhibition.
