Interested bands and performers are to be canvassed with a view to making better use of the bandstand on the Glebe at Bowness.
Windermere Town Council agreed this might require some financial input in the future, but thought it would encourage people from Windermere and Bowness to make more use of the Glebe for entertainment.
It could also provide a welcome venue for local bands to perform to a youthful audience, or a sight for handbell ringers to regale the public.
Local bands, choirs and performers will be invited to contact the council to arrange a programme for the summer of 2010.
