EMOTIVE rockers EZIO (right) are set to play an intimate gig in Allithwaite next month, as part of their European tour, writes Lisa Higginson.
The Guide-over-Sands will play host to Ezio Lunedei and Mark "Booga" Fowell, the innovative duo behind EZIO's raw, addictive tones.
Singer and guitarist Ezio formed a musical union with Kenyan-born guitarist Booga, when they met in Cambridge in 1990, and the duo began touring the British Isles, pulling in crowds with their distinctive sound.
They were signed in 1994 by BMG and recorded their debut albumBlack Boots on Latin Feet. The band's second album Diesel Vanilla was released in 1997 but it was their third album Higher that captured the power of their live performances with the use of a full band. Their latest album is The Making of Mr Spoons.
Local musicians Pete and Matt Kassell (Radio KFK/Pulse Code) will be supporting EZIO at the gig on Thursday, November 10, at 8pm.
Tickets are £10 and are available from The Guide-over-Sands and from Bryan or Sue on 015395-33792.
