SOUTH Lakeland life captured on camera up to 100 years ago can be seen at a special screening in Kendal.
The North West Film Archive is bringing its collection to the Brewery Arts Centre on November 29 at 7.30pm.
The archive, based at Manchester Metropolitan University, includes material from the past century of life in the South Lakes.
Films include a Bowness sports day in 1914, Lake District villages and fells in the post-war summer of 1946, construction of the M6 and its effect on the Lune Valley and a tour of Kendal Snuff tobacco producer Gawith Hoggarth.
Marion Hewitt, archive service manager, said: “This is a great opportunity for local people to enjoy an evening with a difference and take a look back at life in in the past century.”
The North West Film Archive has been based at Manchester Metropolitan University since 1977 and is the publicly recognised home for moving images about life in the North West of England.
