New signs at Arnside to warn of dangers of Morecambe Bay
9:33am Friday 16th November 2012 in News
David Willacky and Nigel Capstick receive one of the new signs from Ronnioe Smith of United Utilities
SIGNS warning visitors to Arnside of the dangerous nature of Morecambe Bay have been presented by United Utilities to parish council chair Dave Willacy and Arnside Coastguard Nigel Capstick.
The utility company donated the signs as a thank-you for the patience of residents who have had to put up with disruption since May as new and improved equipment for local sewers have been installed.
“The signs already in place are deteriorating, and they are not in a good place to be visible,” said Mr Capstick. “United Utilities came up with the idea which is good – the signs will be invaluable to us.”
