Sometimes police do not tell papers about crimes for quite a while. We run appeals for them as and when they put the incident on the voicebanks.
The reason this has been reported ten days after it happened is because that is when police alerted us about the incident.
We feel it is important to help officers track criminals even if we are told about the crime a long time after the event as it could help to bring the person to justice.
Hope that clears it up for you.
Best wishes,
Emma.
