Residents across South Lakeland can help shape policy
3:30pm Sunday 10th March 2013 in News
By Daniel Orr, Reporter
SOUTH Lakeland District Council wants residents to help shape future decisions.
The authority wants to hear from people who have an issue they think it needs to review.
Suggestions will then be looked at and could be examined by the council’s various Overview and Scrutiny’s Committees, which examines policies and services.
Group chair Coun Andy Shine said: “We are looking forward to tackling a new agenda and are encouraging members of the public to highlight an issue or a topic that they think we should be looking at.
“I am sure there are lots of issues that the public are keen for us to look at and discuss and we want to know what they are.
“We shall be finalising the new programme shortly and we hope the O and S Committee can challenge so as to seek improvements and make sure the council is providing value for money services that benefit the community.”
Suggestions can be emailed to scrutiny@southlakeland.gov.uk or posted to Scrutiny Section, SLDC, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4UQ.

Obviously there no good at their jobs,so sack them.
As for the shape of the future they have left I would say it's the shape of a big dog t**d.
Unfortnately I work full time and would love to give a 500 point plan to these morons and quite simply I have not got the time nor the handshake.
They are PAID and ELECTED to make sensible decisions but it does beggar believe what on earth they spend (waste) the money on.
Wondering around at midnight looking for the homeless.....says it all, even they have sense to avoid K Village.
Just one person and one job,no silly committees they will never agree, never has and never will.

I for one will make my feelings known and if nothing else it will make sure they actually have to start working for a living...

And they still get paid.
Ridiculous. All someone needs to do is pop on here and see what folk are complaining about.
That should keep 'em going for starters!

The one thing that can be said of our current bunch of councillors is that they are much too arrogant to consider the views of residents.

Maybe we should get the parents of pupils at Casterton or Sedberge schools. They have plenty to say and obviously the time to do it ! But they are the people that don't do anything unless it effects them and their darling daughter's futures.
