Three women left 'shaken and upset' after man exposed himself and chased them in Kendal

THREE women in Kendal were left 'shaken and upset' after a man exposed himself to them, and then chased them.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened on Sunday (May 12), between 1.15am and 1.35am.

Officers said the man exposed himself to the women on Wildman Street, before chasing them onto Ann Street, and then he ran off.

The man is described as aged between 18 and 20, 5'10", with fair hair and of a slim build.

He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark jeans with a paler design on the waistband and pockets.

Anyone who saw the incident, or who may have been approached by this man should contact Cumbria Police on 101 and ask to speak to Kendal Custody Investigation Team.

Alternately ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Am I the only person who finds this storey both hilarious and worrying at the same time.
If a group of 3 mature women (they were wandering round in the early hours of Sunday morning so must be adult) felt the sight of a lone male with his wedding tackle on display to be upsetting, rather than plain comical, and then to run away, rather than either laughing at his todger or handbagging him (he was heavily outnumbered) they should be feeling quite embarrassed at how pathetic they have been. Their reaction will quite likely encourage him to try it again, and possibly with someone who, on her own, would feel very vulnerable and entitled to feel shaken and upset.
As it was it could have been straight out of a Benny Hill sketch.

Judging from the comment above, you have never been in that situation - lucky you! The article or STORY is quite limited with regards to the detail of what actually occurred, whether the offending person was out numbered or not, you don't expect someone to expose themselves - he could have been brandishing a 'weapon' (no pun intended), it doesn't mention the ages of the ladies - young or old it is not pleasant no matter what time of the day or night. Here is hoping it does not happen again

Why was it named Wildman Street in the first place, walk down it in day-light and it's pretty obvious.

Yes, it is a bit funny but this flasher needs to be caught because next time he may try something violent. The description is so good that his days are numbered...

It has a funny edge to it, sure, but by the sounds of things this wasn't a benny hill-esq-trousers round the ankles trying not to trip up whilst running thing. If some bloke flashes his trouser snake and then *runs after* you it is likely that he doesn't want to have a friendly chat about the UK economy or the weather. You go to the police, there is *nothing* pathetic about that in the slightest.

By comparison, yesterday, 3 women in Woolwich confronted 2 heavily armed men who had just killed and decapitated a soldier.

What a fantastic comparision! If, as in this case, people had handed information over to the police about the two men earlier instead of perhaps ignoring the signs in the days and weeks before then perhaps that may have never come to pass! Just as in this case it could well potentially stop a more serious event occuring.

Who knows?
I am not criticising them for going to the police - indeed it should certainly be reported. I just feel their reaction at the time left much to be desired.
