A CYCLIST was fown to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a stationary car in Furness yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the A595 at Askam brickworks at around 4.30pm.
Cumbria Police said the 52-year-old cyclist, a man from Askam, hit a silver Rover ZXR as he was travelling along the road from Dalton to Askam.
He was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
A 30-year-old Askam woman who was driving the car was taken to Furness General Hospital along with her two young children who were travelling with her to be checked over.
Witnesses have been asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101.
