David Smith, Tony Harrison and John Broadhurst
THE November meeting of the Newby Bridge Lodge of Freemasons saw David Smith take over as Master of the Lodge from John Broadhurst.
More than 100 members and visitors attended the event at the Newby Bridge Hotel, where the guest of honour was Tony Harrison, assistant provincial grand master for the area. To mark the occasion he was presented with a cheque for £1,000 for charity.
It is the secopnd time that Mr Smith – who is the proprietor of Furness Windings in Ulverston – shas been elected as Master of the Lodge.
