STAFF at a care home have filled 28 boxes with goodies to be sent to poverty-stricken children this Christmas.
Employees at Heron Hill Care Home have packed treats galore into decorated shoeboxes after colleague Nicole Tamblin suggested they contribute to the efforts of the charity Samaritan’s Purse.
Every year it distributes thousands of boxes containing toiletries, toys, sweets and hats, scarves and gloves, to youngsters whose lives are ravaged by poverty.
Staff at the Kendal care home wrapped their boxes ahead of the deadline, which passed on Monday. The Gazette also collected boxes from readers for the appeal.
