APPLEBY Grammar School student Clare Hobart and Sarah Thornborough, from Kirkby Stephen Grammar School, won through to the final of the 2013 Leading Individual Hotels of Cumbria Young Chef competition.
They cooked a two-course lunch for 24 invited guests at Askham Hall under the watchful eye of head chef Richard Swale.
They will now appear in the Masterchef style final at Augill Castle, near Kirkby Stephen, on December 8.
