REMAINS believed to be those of a pony have been discovered for the second time this year, in the same location.

In January The Westmorland Gazette reported that a miniature Shetland pony had been found dead and dumped on a back road at Hale, near Milnthorpe.

Members of the public have now discovered a second set of remains wrapped in an expensive brown horse rug.

The find was reported to police and the body has been removed by Cumbria County Council’s Environmental Health Department.

Susan Dixon, of Warton, who was one of the people to make the discovery, said: “This is becoming a habit and it would seem that the person who is doing this is going to get away with it.”
