DUDDON and Furness Mountain Rescue Team are on the lookout for a new base.

The team is stationed at Foxfield Business Park, on the A595 near Broughton-in-Furness, but they have outgrown the space and are looking for a plot of land to accommodate the 35 volunteers.

Due to an increasing amount of specialist equipment needed and an expanding operational team, the base that has accommodated the volunteers for over ten years has become too small.

“Ideally what we want is to find a plot of land, which must be near Broughton. “We have had a few offers so far but it is still very early days.

“The project could be years in the making but we are open to any suggestions,” said David Binks, deputy leader of Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team.
