POLICE have caught a German Shepherd dog they were hunting after a woman was attacked this morning.
Police were called today (4th December) at 9.21am following an incident where a woman was attacked on Longway, Barrow-in-Furness.
The woman, aged 59, was injured after she tried to stop the animal attacking her dog in her garden.
She was taken to Furness General Hospital for treatment to what police said were non-life threatening injuries.
After an appeal for the public to stay away from the dog, police said it had now been 'located and detained' nearby.
It will now be passed over to the relevant agency, said the police who thanked members of the public for their assistance.
