MORECAMBE-based mezzo soprano Wendy Sharrock rejoins Carnforth Choral Society for their Christmas Music concert at Christ Church, Broadway, Morecambe later this month.
The first part of the programme features Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The work was first performed at the 1912 Three Choirs Festival at Hereford Cathedral and is largely based on English folk material collected by Vaughan Williams and his friend Cecil Sharp.
The fantasia is followed by a selection of carols and other musical items.
This is a return visit by Wendy, who sang at the society’s 2012 Christmas concert. Musical director is Martin Webster and accompanist Richard Bromley.
Carnforth Choral Society’s Christmas Music concert is at Christ Church, Broadway, Morecambe on December 19. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets are £8 from choir members, at the door, or from Gill on 01524 730089.
