A COUPLE accused of a string of drugs offences in the Appleby area have had their case adjourned because one of them is ill.
Stella Conner, 30, and Alex Peter Law, 32, both of The Bield, Ravenstonedale, Kirkby Stephen, were both due at Carlisle Crown Court to answer charges relating to the supply of illegal drugs.
But while Conner did attend Law did not, because he was in hospital recovering from an operation.
The hearing was adjourned until May 20 when, it is hoped, both will be able to be there.
They are both accused of being concerned in the supply of the stimulant mephedrone between August 20-12 and possessing it with intent to supply it on July 5 2013.
Law is also charged with being concerned in the supply of the hallucinogenic ketamine between August 20 2012 and July 2013, possessing mephedrone and ketamine with intent to supply them on April 19 2013, possessing mephedrone with intent to supply it on June 10 2013 and being concerned in the supply of mephedrone and ketamine on August 20 2012 They are also both accused of damaging a window and door belonging to George Bowman.
