KENDAL Mountain Rescue team battled 'wet and wild' weather yesterday going to the aid of a walker who fell in the Howgills.
The team said police paged the team yesterday afternoon and asked them to attend the vicinity of Pickering Gill near Cautley.
Team members administered pain relief and splinted her leg before stretchering her down to a waiting ambulance at the nearby Cross Keys Temperance Inn
Rescuers said the party were 'well equipped, gave good information on their location and signalled their precise position with a torch'.
They added: "The conditions could be described as wet and wild and we were grateful for the assistance given by our friends in the Kirkby Stephen team."
