12:50pm Friday 3rd January 2014 in News
PEOPLE with cars parked at Canal Foot in Ulverston are being told to move their vehicles "immediately".
Cumbria Police say the area is flooding and there are vehicles parked in the area which could be at risk.
All motorists are also being told to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
Motorists are also advised to avoid driving through flood water because it could be deeper than it appears.
"Please do not tie up emergency services by driving through deep flood water," urged a spokeswoman for the force.
Local people have also reported flooding on the coastal road at Roosebeck, Ulverston, while the main road between Arnside and Milnthorpe next to the estuary is also thought to be suffering.
