A WOMAN was rescued from the Old man of Coniston yesterday (January 25) afternoon.
The walker, from Derbyshire, was rescued by 17 members of Coniston Mountain Rescue Team.
The hiker fell in 'gusty high winds where the main path passes through old slate quarry' and she sustained a serious gash to her leg and was unable to continue.
Team members treated the woman’s injuries and stretchered her off the mountain to the Team’s Land Rover Ambulances.
She was taken to the Team’s HQ in Coniston and transferred to a North West Ambulance Service land ambulance for transfer to hospital.
