THREE people have been charged by police in connection with alleged neglect and ill treatment at a Penrith nursing home.
Cumbria Police said the incidents related to the Beacon Edge Nursing Home, Penrith.
The following people have been charged:
• Chevonne Benson, 22, of Roman Road, Penrith, has been charged with seven alleged counts of ill treatment/ wilful neglect.
• William Bowman, 21, from Bowscar, Penrith has been charged with ten counts of alleged ill treatment/ wilful neglect and one sexual offence.
• Claire Strong, 20, from Clifton, Penrith has been charged with three counts of alleged ill treatment/ wilful neglect.
All three were charged on Friday January 24.
They will appear in Carlisle Magistrates Court on Friday February 7.
Police said the care home had been 'proactive' in safeguarding residents.
