THE 'elusive' giant eagle that has been on the loose for five days has been spotted in various locations around Lancashire.
Nikita, a ten-year-old Steller’s sea eagle went missing on Saturday morning (January 25) during training at the Hawk Experience in Brackenbottom.
Chris O’Donnell, the bird’s trainer has been inundated with calls from the public and this afternoon (January 30) he is in Great Eccleston hunting out the bird.
Mr O’Donnell said: “At 9am this morning we were in Clitheroe after a member of the public called us.
“At 9.45am we were in Longridge and since 2pm this afternoon we have been in Great Eccleston.
“The bird is doing some serious miles!”
The police have asked anyone who spots the bird to call 101 and quote reference 0246. Or alternatively call Hawk Experience on 01729 860316.
“The eagle is being very elusive but once we do spot her we will hope to tempt her with food and get her home,” added Mr O’Donnell.
