MOTORISTS on the M6 this morning are being warned of possible delays after an accident.
Lanes two and three were closed following the incident just after 8am this morning.
However, one lane has now re-opened.
It involved a car travelling southbound on the motorway between J40 at Penrith and J39 Shap.
The authorities say the roadside Matrix signs are set to 40 mph.
It is understood the car skidded on ice, although there has not yet been any official reports of any people being injured.
Drivers were warned of 'hazardous' conditions due to ice.
