Lakes adventure company offers new corporate challenge

WINDERMERE-based off-road adventure company Kankku is offering a new ‘exhilarating' corporate team-building package.

The firm’s new Overlander service puts participants in charge of a fleet of ex-Army Land Rovers which they drive over the Lake District’s ‘challenging terrain’.

Kankku bosses say the aim is to take clients’ employees back to basics and encourage them to engage with the countryside.

The package combines the discipline of Kankku’s Self-Drive Safari, where participants take the wheel and go it alone, with the driving technicalities of its guided off-road expeditions, where a ‘remote’ guide is provided for support.

Overlander gives each vehicle team the challenge of both driving and navigating as they journey over an off-road, point-to-point challenge through the Lake District National Park.

A spokesman said: “A remote guide is provided to manage the convoy, providing support and assistance when it comes to driving the more technical off-road sections, but even with this guidance Overlander remains a challenging outing requiring concentration and team-work.

“It gives colleagues a break from the ‘bored room’ to gain some distance, be inspired by the spectacular Lake District landscapes and see things differently; an opportunity for teams to work together, establishing new relationships and new skills.”
