AMATEUR photographers are being encouraged to enter a free competition linked to the BBC drama Jamaica Inn, due to be screened around Easter.
Some of the scenes from the classic story were filmed in Kirkby Lonsdale and the town’s community manager Belinda Loos said pictures taken of the filming will be judged by Jamaica Inn’s producer Dan Winch.
“We're looking for the photo which best shows how the town was transformed when the location shooting took place here last October,” she said. “Hundreds of photos were taken by local people. We have a copy of the novel, signed by many of the cast, for the winner.”
Entry is free. Photos, sized 8x12, together with a few words explaining the photograph, will be judged by Mr Winch on April 12 when he visits Kirkby Lonsdale to talk about making television dramas.
Entries should be sent to the visitor information shop at 24 Main Street in the town.
