A WINDERMERE hotel has won a national award for its use of social media as a marketing tool.

The Cranleigh Boutique achieved the accolade at the Travel Marketing Awards, held in London.

The Best Use Of Social Media Award was received during the Grosvenor House Hotel ceremony by Cranleigh’s owner Stephen Hargreaves.

He said he and his employees were 'beyond stunned' at the achievement.

Travel Marketing Awards' spokesperson Tracy Phillips said: “All of the judges were extremely impressed by the Cranleigh Boutique’s fantastic Facebook campaign and by the results that were generated from these efforts.”
