RESIDENTS are being urged to attend a meeting which will shine a spotlight on healthcare in the Craven area.

A scrutiny panel, part of North Yorkshire County Council, is set to go ahead on April 11, looking look at both long and short-term care and proposals for mental health services for adults.

“We will be examining a range of issues and looking at local priorities,” explained committee chairman, Councillor Jim Clark.

“In particular we will be looking at developments in mental health services for adults and older people which were first proposed two years ago by the Bradford District Care Trust.

“There is now some concern being raised locally as to how the proposals will work in practice.”

He added: “I urge members of the public to attend the meeting as they will be able to comment on the issues being discussed and make their opinions known.”

The meeting is being held at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton at 10am.
