New 'forget-me-not' candle produced to raise funds for Ulverston's St Mary's Hospice
ST Mary’s Hospice in Ulverston has partnered with Lindal's Wax Lyrical to create a special limited edition 'forget-me-not' candle.
The idea is to help raise vital funds in its 25th anniversary year.
The glass candle has a pretty floral bouquet lifted by delicate back notes of musk, vanilla and precious woods and depicts St Mary’s Hospice blue and yellow forget-me-not logo.
The candle is now available to buy from the Wax Lyrical outlet store in Lindal-in-Furness and from the eight St Mary’s Hospice shops around South Cumbria.
All proceeds from the candle, which is priced at £5, will be donated to the Hospice.
Val Stangoe, chief executive at St Mary’s Hospice, said: “Wax Lyrical is a great supporter of the Hospice and was one of the founder members of our Club 25 scheme launched to businesses last year. We are very fortunate to have such a renowned and quality manufacturer on our doorstep and willing to work with us to raise much-needed funds.
“It was wonderful to see our new forget-me-not candle coming off the production line and being so beautifully packaged. We’re confident that the public will love the finished product and it will fly off the shelves.”
Joanne Barber, managing director at Wax Lyrical, said: “St Mary's Hospice is a local charity that all of our staff are passionate about supporting, either by holding fundraising events or donating items through our on-site Hospice donation station.
"When we were made aware that this was a special year for the Hospice – their 25th anniversary - we were delighted to work with them to come up with a candle that not only looks and smells good, but all of the profits from it's sale go to such a good cause."
St Mary’s Hospice first opened in 1989 to provide help, care, and support to people with life-shortening conditions and their families. Twenty-five years on, it has now helped more than 15,000 people across South Cumbria.
