HAVERTHWAITE rolled out the red carpet for an array of movie-themed scarecrows at its second annual Scarecrow Festival.
Among the familiar faces from the big screen on display at Haverthwaite Community Playing Field were Gene Kelly and characters from ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Carry On Matron’.
The entries for the festival, held by Haverthwaite, Backbarrow and Low Wood Community Committee, went on display on Monday (April 28).
Judging will be undertaken by Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner Richard Rhodes and the results will be announced at a Grand Awards Ceremony at the playing fields on May 5.
