ONLOOKERS lined the streets to watch the annual Mayor’s Parade in Kendal on Sunday.

The Town’s Sea Cadets Band led the procession from the town hall to Kendal Parish Church, followed by Mayor Coun Tom Clare, Deputy Mayor Chris Hogg, councillors and youth groups.

Town Clerk Liz Richardson said: “It was a wonderful day and great that so many people came out. When I turned around I couldn’t believe how far the procession stretched.”

A service with prayers, readings and hymns, chosen by Coun Clare, was held before the Mayor and guests paraded back to the town hall.

Also in attendance were members from groups including Rotary, the Women’s Institute, the Air Cadets and other youth organisations who were saluted by the Mayor at the town hall.
