WORLD famous buildings and landmarks recreated in Lego are pulling in the punters at Rheged.
Thousands of people are blazing a trail to the award-winning visitor attraction, near Penrith, to see Brick City: Lego Architecture, which features more than 70 models from micro-builds to a massive four-metre long model of St Pancras Station.
Devised and created by Lego luminary Warren Elsmore, Brick City includes his replica of the London Olympic Park and a range of interactive elements such as a Lego Raceway where visitors can build a model car and race it down a track.
Rheged arts officer John Stokes said the display was already proving to be one of the attractions busiest-ever exhibitions.
He said: “We’ve had nearly 2,000 visitors since we opened last Friday and all are really enjoying the range of models on display and the fun activities we’ve laid on.”
The exhibition – which will run until September 2 – is part of Rheged’s Summer of Colour, which is a mix of workshops, activities and film screenings.
