WORLD WAR ONE will be commemorated on August 3 at St Oswald’s Church, with an organ recital at 3pm. The organ was given in memory of Nellie Taylor, the only woman to be named on the Grasmere War Memorial.
On August 4, at 7.30pm in the Jerwood Centre, the local history group reflects with words and music on the events of 100 years ago, and considers how they affected the village.
It will also look forward to the community-curated exhibition to be shown in the Wordsworth Museum from November. Everyone is welcome.
