A TRIBUTE has been paid to a 'loving father' killed after falling from his bike yesterday.
John Makin, 74, of Abbey Hey, Manchester, was killed at around 12.30pm on A683 Burrow Road, near Kirkby Lonsdale.
“John Makin, a loving father to his four children and beautiful grandchildren, was taken from us suddenly and too soon," said his family in a statement.
"Words cannot describe our loss. He will always be in our hearts forever.”
Mr Makin is believed to have completed an overtake manoeuvre before falling from his motorcycle and colliding with a hedge.
He was airlifted to Royal Lancaster Infirmary where he later died.
Inspector Rob Gomery, of Lancashire Police, said: “This is a tragic incident and my thoughts are with John’s family at this time.
"An investigation to establish the circumstances of the accident is now underway and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this collision to contact us."
