GLASGOW'S David Nevin smashed all previous records to claim the heaviest marrow at the Sawrey Marrow Show.
Held at the village's Braithwaite Hall last Sunday, the show had a fantastic turnout of exhibits, said Chris Sands, a member of the show's organising committee.
Mr Nevin came away with the top award with his winning 133lb marrow while Mr Sands' 109lb vegetable won him top honours in the heaviest local grower competition.
Funds raised from the afternoon were donated to The Nicola and Charlotte Fund.
The charity was set up by David Wood following the death of his wife and six-day-old baby earlier this year and is raising money for specialist hospital equipment.
