BENTHAM Town Council is to buy a new Yorkshire flag to fly from its town hall on Yorkshire Day.
The historic county flag features a white heraldic rose on a blue background, and is flown on August 1.
Councillors decided to replace their damaged Yorkshire flag, and they also agreed to fly the St George's Cross on St George's Day, April 23; the Union Flag on Remembrance Day and the Queen's birthdays; and the Armed Forces Flag on Armed Forces Day, which falls on June 27 next year.
Town clerk Jo Burton was also asked to look into the cost of buying a Bentham flag to be flown on days special to the town.
Cllr Gerald Townson agreed to draw up a list of dates when each flag should be flown from the Victorian town hall in the centre of High Bentham.
