POLICE are hunting a ‘suspicious male’ who they believe may have tried to con an Ambleside shopkeeper.

The man entered The Rohan Shop in Ambleside at around 10.50am today (Monday) and asked for change for a £50 note.

Police said he ‘hurriedly left the area’ when he was refused change, and believe he may have been intending to ‘ring the changes’ or the note may have been counterfeit.
