THE FREEMASONS Grand Charity has donated money to an Ulverston Hospice.
St Mary's Hospice received a cheque for £2,296 from representatives from the fourteen lodges in Furness and South Lakeland.
Receiving the cheque was hospice CEO Val Stangoe.
She said: “We are continuing to expanding the services we offer. Donations like this are not only very welcome but are vital in enabling us to continue our work.”
St Mary’s has started promoting its positive living education programme out in the community and has just delivered it in Ambleside.
In addition the hospice at home initiative is being expanded with a further team of nurses being allocated to it.
In January it is intended to increase the days available for day care at the hospice from two days a week to four with a further increase later in the year.
Val added: “The Freemasons are regular donors as are many other organisations, companies and individuals without whom we simply could not operate as we do. We are extremely grateful to them all.”
