LATEST figures show that since 2010 over 22,000 apprenticeships have been created in Cumbria.
The figure was released in response to a parliamentary question from South Lakes MP Tim Farron to the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.
The figures also show that in Westmorland & Lonsdale 2,980 have been created since 2010.
"More important than the headline figures are the human stories behind them - more people having a job and a chance to earn and learn," said Mr Farron.
