REPRESENTATIVES from across Eden came full of ideas and experiences to share at an annual community conference.

Held at Melmerby Village Hall, this year's Community Conference welcomed 55 delegates who took part in the consultation to help address what issues Eden District Council (EDC) services should be delivering over the next four years.

The authority's deputy leader and Communities Portfolio Holder, Councillor Mary Robinson, who chaired the conference said: “I would like to thank the many representatives from community groups and parish councils who attended the conference and shared their ideas for the priorities we could address in their areas over the next four years.

“We recognise that there are many social, environmental, health and economic issues that will impact on Eden over the next four years.

"I was very heartened to hear from the key speakers at the Conference about the excellent work being done by community groups, health care professionals and many volunteers to help directly address these issues at a local level."

Contributions made at the conference on Saturday (November 22) will be taken forward as EDC progresses to the next stage of developing its new Corporate Plan for 2015-2019.

The presentations from the conference will shortly be available to view at www.eden.gov.uk

Further rounds of public consultation will be held on the authority's new Corporate Plan in 2015.
