Investigation launched after bungalow fire
AN investigation has been launched after a fire inside a bungalow in a small village near Kendal this afternoon.
A neighbour raised the alarm at around 12.44pm after seeing the blaze on Meadowside Close, Gatebeck.
Neil Denney, watch manager at Cumbria Fire and Rescue, said nobody was inside at the time of the blaze.
He said the fire was well-developed and confined to the living room but added there was smoke damage throughout the property. He added that the smoke alarm was functional.
