CUMBRIA Police are putting extra officers on patrol for ‘Festive Friday’ – the last Friday before Christmas.
The popular night out often sees a corresponding rise in alcohol fuelled violence and disorder in towns across Cumbria.
In the last three years there has been a reduction in the number of drunk and disorderly arrests, but the number of assaults has remained around the same.
