A PLANNING application to extend an agricultural building at Bees Nest Farm, Casterton, have been turned down by South Lakeland District Council.
Using delegated powers, planning officials decided that the plans, submitted by David Metcalfe, would be visually harmful to the environment.
Their report said: "The proposed extension would significantly add to the scale and massing of the building which, in the absence of any landscape screening, would appear as an over dominant building in its landscape setting detrimental to the visual amenities and character of the surrounding landscape."
