FIREFIGHTERS tackled a kitchen fire at a cottage in Witherslack, near Town End Close, at 11.40am today.
The fire was in the ground floor kitchen and was put out by firefighters, two wearing breathing apparatus, using a hose reel jet.
The property was then cleared of smoke using a high pressure fan. Electricity and gas supplies to the cottage were isolated.
