Skills for Working Life students took part in a fun packed Sportivate Golf project.
The training was delivered by Paul Rawlinson who runs Zone Golf (formerly Stroke One). Paul is a qualified PGA Professional who has competed round the world on various tours and is a highly experienced coach. The students attended six sessions with Paul and his assistant Gareth Butcher who introduced basics such as grip, stance and swing in order to get the students striking the ball correctly. The development some of the students made was clear to see over the duration of the sessions.
Sportivate funding is provided by Sport England and is used to give 11-25 year-olds who are not taking part in sport access to six weeks of coaching in a particular sport - in this case golf. During the six weeks those taking part are provided with high level coaching with the aim of introducing new participants to the sport as a result of their positive experiences.
